Our country is one of the countries with very high literacy rates, it is prosperous and the citizens have a high income. On the other hand, in developing and underdeveloped nations, where the literacy rate is not as high, a number of people are still living below the poverty line.

Education saves you from being fooled and exploited. We live in a country where we enjoy a freedom and number of rights. It is easier to take advantage of illiterate and innocent people. They may be deprived of some right which they have or be trapped into signing false documents because unlike an educated person they are not well aware of their rights and freedoms.
