Helen Konoma

PRESIDENT

Helen Konoma is the Executive Director for Family Kickstart Georgia. Helen has a rich wealth of knowledge and experience both in the healthcare industry and the non profit organization.

She enjoys spending time advocating for the rights of individuals in matters of client representation in collaboration with other organizations.

Helen has strong emotional awareness, and experience in building support for the education of youth, families, and communities in various aspects of empowerment; embracing ambiguity and challenges.

Latif Oduola-Owoo

SECRETARY

Latif Oduola-Owoo, Esq. is a Business and general civil law practitioner with broad litigation, advocacy and counseling skills. He has extensive experience representing major financial institutions, pharmaceutical, and technology companies. He also has a passion for human service and devotes his time in the Nonprofit sector where he sits on Board of Nonprofit Organizations and is the Secretary for Family Kickstart Georgia. Mr. Latif is married with children and is very passionate advocating for families and youth in our community.

Martha Dimant

Martha Dimant

BOARD MEMBER

Martha Dimant is a professional Counselor and Social Worker, contributing her wealth of knowledge, expertise, and experience as a Licensed Social Worker in the State of Georgia and currently to Family Kickstart GA.  Martha serves as professional resource support to at-risk families and youths in the development of patient and family education and community resource facilitator. She is Adept in health and social services assessments as well as in the development of psychosocial evaluations, counseling and discharge planning. Martha has extensive experience in providing emotional support to individuals, families and group therapies. Martha has spent over 20 years advocating for families and providing instructions using her bilingual skills to work with non-English speaking families.

Salihana Hasic

BOARD MEMBER - TREASURER

Born in Bosnia and lived in Germany and Croatia. Salihana came to the USA in 1999 as a refugee due to war in Bosnia. Shortly after her arrival, she started working for Bank of America and she has been an associate for 17 years. She currently works at the Marietta Square location where she is the Financial Center Manager. She is responsible for the revenue growth of her financial center and understanding the needs of her customers. Along with that, she is passionate about developing associates in leadership positions and helping them acquire additional skills that allow them to excel in their current roles. Those qualities have led her financial center to be ranked number 2 in the nation out of 4600 financial centers with exposure to helping market leaders with various projects throughout the organization. Salihana’s demonstration of those leadership skills allows her continued success within her organization and she continues to demonstrate those skills within her community by partnering within nonprofit organizations.

Everette Hubbard

CORPORATE BOARD - CHAIR

Everette has over thirty years of volunteering experience in education, culture, health and human services, political, and social economics in support of various community domestically. He founded DFW tharook Foundation, a charity agency that provided personal support services for children with Sickle Cell. Everette has been an advocate for clarity of individual rights, protections and opportunities available both in commercial and the nonprofit sectors. Everette also has a passion for mentoring, education and career development working with schools and nonprofits by volunteering his time training, speaking and securing seats on foundation boards and committees.

Everette holds a Bachelor of Science and an MBA from Western Governors University with various industry certifications. He has extensive experience in Cyber Security within major financial institutions, healthcare, retail, and manufacturing companies ranging from startups to Fortune 10 companies.

Everette promotes the development and transfer of knowledge, preparation, and capabilities to individuals to help ensure they reach their personal and professional goals while providing them with encouragement and support that allows them to excel where possible. Everette’s devotion to sharing these leadership skills enables him to reach success professionally, and personally while extending his passion to the communities by partnering with corporations, vendors, and foundations to support nonprofit groups. Everette is married with children and grandchildren who drive his passion for advocating for rights and privileges of families and youth in need within all communities.

Harden Perry Jr

BOARD MEMBER

Harden Perry, Jr started his career as a Lead Computer Operator in a Life Insurance Company after gaining a BA in Economics. He held various positions as a Data Communications Coordinator, Telecommunications Specialist, Local Network Engineer, Project Engineer, Networking Section, and Regional Support Center Manager, Software Support Specialist working in Burroughs Welcome, AT &T, Wang Labs, and Hewlett-Packard before his retirement in 2017.
He is avid and passionate about community engagement and improvement and has supported various initiatives including the Emergency Food Assistance Program (TEFAP) where he coordinated the distribution of 1200 boxes of food, and the Cobb County Food Distribution Project which served over 800.

His prison initiative, an Aftercare Program later became known as the Harmony House Program in 2006, led to his appearance in Head-Line News (HLN) series “American Behind Bar” and was interviewed on live TV discussing the Harmony House Program in June 2013. He received the Cobb Collaborative Humans Service Award in 2018 for the Volunteer Category.

Perry Jr, an ordained deacon and elder in the African Methodist Episcopal Church, serving in Turner Chapel, currently works with the New Horizons Community Development Corporation as a Program Director for the Turner Aftercare and Re-entry Program (TARP).

Perry Jr, enjoys fishing, golfing, traveling, and the support of local community programs, and enjoys serving hot breakfast twice a month in Must Ministries alongside his wife and other volunteers.

Margarita Robertson

BOARD MEMBER

Margarita Robertson is an enthusiastic and dedicated ESL professional with 20 years of experience helping primarily international students succeed and reach their full potential. She has superior communication skills and easily interacts with students, families, and faculty/staff. She is fluent in English and Spanish and can present information in a wide variety of ways, emphasizing the relevance of classroom material to the community and the outside world.

Margarita is an expert in fundraising, event planning, grant writing, and donation management, she also has a great experience in daily operations, website management, and social media.

As an experienced ESOL teacher, she worked at Cobb County Public Schools Marietta, GA, from August 1997 to January 2010 as an Elementary ESOL teacher for grades K-5 and Middle School IEL teacher for grades 6-8, where she helped implement and adapt the Intensive English Language Program.

Board Member Role

Family Kickstart Georgia (FKSG) Board of Directors act as the legal authority and provide strategic direction to its initiatives. The board ensures legal compliance and accountability, recommending the development of plans and policies, in meeting with its vision, mission, and objectives.
