Harden Perry Jr

Harden Perry, Jr started his career as a Lead Computer Operator in a Life Insurance Company after gaining a BA in Economics. He held various positions as a Data Communications Coordinator, Telecommunications Specialist, Local Network Engineer, Project Engineer, Networking Section, and Regional Support Center Manager, Software Support Specialist working in Burroughs Welcome, AT &T, Wang Labs, and Hewlett-Packard before his retirement in 2017.
He is avid and passionate about community engagement and improvement and has supported various initiatives including the Emergency Food Assistance Program (TEFAP) where he coordinated the distribution of 1200 boxes of food, and the Cobb County Food Distribution Project which served over 800.
His prison initiative, an Aftercare Program later became known as the Harmony House Program in 2006, led to his appearance in Head-Line News (HLN) series “American Behind Bar” and was interviewed on live TV discussing the Harmony House Program in June 2013. He received the Cobb Collaborative Humans Service Award in 2018 for the Volunteer Category.
Perry Jr, an ordained deacon and elder in the African Methodist Episcopal Church, serving in Turner Chapel, currently works with the New Horizons Community Development Corporation as a Program Director for the Turner Aftercare and Re-entry Program (TARP).
Perry Jr, enjoys fishing, golfing, traveling, and the support of local community programs, and enjoys serving hot breakfast twice a month in Must Ministries alongside his wife and other volunteers.
