{"id":2768,"date":"2018-11-05T20:41:26","date_gmt":"2018-11-05T20:41:26","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.fksg.org\/?p=2768"},"modified":"2018-11-05T20:41:26","modified_gmt":"2018-11-05T20:41:26","slug":"running-away-from-home","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.fksg.org\/test1\/running-away-from-home\/","title":{"rendered":"Running Away from Home"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Have you ever been in trouble at home or at school and thought to yourself, &#8220;I will run away and then they will be sorry!&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>There are numerous reasons why kids run away from home, however, they all have something to do with one or more of these problems:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>at home, like feeling unsafe, fighting between parents, fighting with siblings, feeling unwanted, divorce, parent&#8217;s new partner, a new baby, money concerns, too many rules, not enough rules.<\/li>\n<li>at school, like bullying, teasing, work being too hard or too easy, problems with a teacher, homework, or having no friends.<\/li>\n<li>with friends, like teasing, spreading rumors, people telling your secrets, peer group pressure.<\/li>\n<li>with the law, like drinking, drug use, stealing, graffiti, vandalism, breaking-in, attack.<\/li>\n<li>with boyfriends\/girlfriends, like breaking up, not wanting to take no for an answer, having an argument, being dumped.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Running away may get you away from one problem for a while but it doesn&#8217;t solve the problem. It can give you a lot more problems and put you into danger however if you really feel like running away, ask yourself some questions first:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>What else can I do to improve things at home before I leave?<\/li>\n<li>What could make me stay at home?<\/li>\n<li>How will I survive?<\/li>\n<li>Is running away safe?<\/li>\n<li>Who can I count on to assist me?<\/li>\n<li>Am I being realistic?<\/li>\n<li>Should I think about this some more?<\/li>\n<li>What are my other options?<\/li>\n<li>If I end up in trouble, who will I call?<\/li>\n<li>When I return home what will happen?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>When you have asked the questions, think about who can help you sort out the problems, running away is not the best option in any circumstances.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-903\" src=\"https:\/\/www.fksg.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/Screen-Shot-2017-05-21-at-14.48.43.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"645\" height=\"114\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Maybe you think that it will be a lot of fun &#8211; no rules like at home, eating what you like when you like, no school, but in reality, it is not so cool:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>having nowhere to live<\/li>\n<li>having no friends who care about you<\/li>\n<li>being afraid<\/li>\n<li>having no cash for food<\/li>\n<li>being bullied or hurt by bigger children or adults<\/li>\n<li>sleeping rough and being unsafe<\/li>\n<li>maybe having to steal or do something you don&#8217;t want to do to get food<\/li>\n<li>not having anywhere of your own<\/li>\n<li>having nowhere to rest<\/li>\n<li>having nowhere to put your stuff<\/li>\n<li>having to carry everything<\/li>\n<li>having nowhere to wash yourself or your clothes<\/li>\n<li>always being alert for danger, and never able to relax.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Even many stories have a happy ending, sometimes kids who run away from home have a lonely and really horrifying time until they discovered the right sort of help.
