Things that can contribute to positive\nmental health and wellbeing include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>spending quality time with close friends and\nfamily<\/li><li>working in a job or finding an activity that is\nmeaningful<\/li><li>learning a new skill<\/li><li>finding a hobby<\/li><li>having someone to talk to <\/li><li>eating healthily and exercising regularly<\/li><li>spending time with people who share similar\ninterests.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Learn to relax and do things you enjoy. Everyone is\ndifferent, so find out what works for you. Relaxing activities may include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>listening to music<\/li><li>watching TV<\/li><li>playing video games<\/li><li>gardening <\/li><li>catching up for drinks with a friend<\/li><li>play with pets<\/li><li>going shopping.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Get moving &#8211; exercise is a great way to improve your\nnegative mood. It can help you feel confident and valued, and it can support you during\ndifficult times. A lack of contact with others makes people feel lonely and\ndisconnected.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>even if you are not contributing to\nconversations, stay around people<\/li><li>spend time on relationships you are interested\nin<\/li><li>care and support other people<\/li><li>talk to family and friends and discuss your\nexperiences, worries and feelings<\/li><li>visit your GP if you have any physical or mental\nhealth concerns.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Join a local community group in something that interests\nyou. This will also allow you to meet people who have similar interests, for\nexample:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>find a self\u2013help group<\/li><li>join a craft group<\/li><li>join a meditation or relaxation group<\/li><li>learn a new hobby<\/li><li>join a sporting team.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Learn to expect problems before they arise, as it will help\nreduce worry and stress. You can do this by:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>learning to understand your own thoughts and\nfeelings<\/li><li>planning what you might do in situations that\ncause you stress<\/li><li>identifying at least two people who can help you\nwhen you come across a problem in your life.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>It is important to introduce a routine and structure to your\ndays. Setting and achieving goals can help to organize your time, and can give\nyou a sense of purpose in life.
