Adult Basic Education
Lack of basic skills for individuals can lead to low-paying or unemployment, dead-end jobs, also it can lead to status as permanent political outsiders, with no opportunity to have their voices heard and to the possibility of watching their children repeat the cycle.
Low literacy levels for a local area can affect economic development, diminish the effectiveness of local government and citizen participation, and place a heavy educational and financial burden on the school system. For all these reasons, Family Kickstart Georgia works with community partners to provide adult literacy programs.
FKSG provides basic literacy, and language training to help adults improve their reading, writing, speaking. The program aims to improve adult citizen chances of getting and keeping a job, as well as making them everyday life easier.
